Areas of Focus
-
COMMUNITY BUILDING
Our community-driven projects, workshops and events combine art education with Indigenous culture, and unlock meaningful connections through art.
We work with communities, groups and teams to co-create art-based projects that inspire creativity, develop skills, foster shared pride, celebrate culture, nurture personal growth, and collaborate to draw knowledge and inspiration from everyone involved.
-
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Miska partners with communities and youth initiatives to expand and enhance their arts, cultural and educational offerings. We aim to provide youth with barrier-free access to new experiences, positive role models, cultural knowledge sharing, and valuable insight into the professional creative world.
Our workshops aim to empower and inspire youth and children in their learning and skill-building journey, and awaken the artist inside.
-
CULTURAL REVIVAL
Through our visual arts projects, our aim is to facilitate the retention, renewal and transmission of Indigenous cultural knowledge and storytelling, share practice and support the exploration, creation and production of visual art by Indigenous artists.
Generations of trauma and cultural suppression have left many without the teachings and tools needed to reconnect with their roots. Using art as the vehicle, we look to reconnect those in need with their culture.
